I attach my iPhone to my PC .. load up Itunes .. and wohoo.. there is a message telling me a new software release is ready for download. The download completes within 5 minutes and I think to myself "ready to rock ". I take a backup, and click update . The software unpacks .. and gets ready to install . Contacting Activation server is the message I see .. then "The iPhone cannot be updated at this time because the iPhone activation server is temporarily unavailable " .. WTF.. I have been attempting this for the past half hour with the same results.
Seriously Apple.. What the f%^k are you thinking ?? I am sure you provided extra bandwidth to cope with the downloads of the software .. but really .. no one thought that the activation servers would be getting hammered ?? Come on !! I would have thought they would have learned their lessons from the initial iPhone release dates and that having made such a hoo haa about this new software update, would have taken every step to ensure my "Jesus" phone ( as some friends call it ) would be able to complete said upgrade hassle free.
For a company that prides itself on its ease of use in terms of their whole hardware/software platforms.. they have dropped the ball on this one. I will no doubt get the new software eventually installed, but having to wait because some shitty activation server cant cope with the load is not the best way to prove your leetness.
